University of Utah Natural History Museum

We took a trip to the Natural History Museum in Salt Lake City.

This was near the entrance. The dinosaur growled if you "fed" him a coin.

The kids are uncovering some fossils with archaeological tools.

I love these next pictures. James is helping Candace with a puzzle of a tyrannosaurus rex head.

They had these cool displays of dinosaur fossils underneath the floor.

I love the picture of Candace above. The next several pictures are the boys playing with some dinosaur figures.

Candace examining the characteristics of igneous rocks.

The kids thought it was pretty neat that they all fit into a dinosaur's footprint.

Candace is putting together a clay pot from the "First Peoples" Section.

This was to show what an archaeological dig site looks like.

This was where you could see if your structure stood up to earthquakes of different magnitudes.

Ours didn't make it.

The next few pictures are of Luke examining the parts of an animal cell.

You could press your hands on this wall the leave your "print".

Levi had taken a dive into my grandparents pond earlier in the day. Hence the homemade lava lava. It was fun trying to keep that on him all day.

Prehistoric alligator.

That's hilarious about the lava lava. I now keep changes of clothes for all my kids in the car, most of the time. Last Sunday, before Leo even made it into sacrament meeting we had to swap church pants for a sweat pants that were 6 inches too short. Hooray for high waters!
